Spring Comedy Recap

4/13/2026

A huge thanks to everyone who came out for our Spring Comedy Series. We laughed, and then laughed some more, with the supremely talented headliners Tom Thakkar, Ray Harrington, and Andrew Sleighter!

Comedy nights at the brewery take collaboration and hard work, but they're worth the effort when we get to see so many people enjoying a good laugh and a great beer.

Special shoutout to our taproom staff, who kept the drinks pouring even when the room was packed to capacity or they had to overcome technical difficulties. We are also grateful to our local partners, including the Best Western Plus Ogallala Inn for housing the comedians; Bubba's Smoked & Loaded, Piglee Wiglee BBQ, and Prokops' Smokin' BBQ for feeding our customers; and the Keith County Chamber of Commerce, and Visit Ogallala & Keith County, for helping us get the word out to make this event series a success.

More photos after the break (click Read More).

Until next time!

PS - SAVE THE DATE for Karen Morgan, at Second Chapter Brewing on Friday, October 23, 2026!

Western Trails Sculpture Walk Celebration

5/1/2025

Join us in celebrating the launch of Ogallala’s inaugural Western Trails Sculpture Walk with a special kick-off event!

The festivities begin on Monday, May 5 at 5:00 PM at Eccentric Lamb Fiber Arts (111 N Spruce Street, Ogallala, NE). Guests will have the opportunity to meet several of the talented sculpture artists and take part in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Western Trails Sculpture Walk, held just outside the “pocket park” alleyway.

Following the ribbon cutting, enjoy a self-guided tour through Ogallala’s Western Trails Creative District, featuring a stunning collection of sculptures that will enhance our community for the next year.

Then, head over to Second Chapter Brewing (203 W A Street, Ogallala, NE) around 6:00 PM for live music, a festive Cinco de Mayo taco bar, and an opportunity to converse with the artists in attendance.

This event is FREE and open to the public. The Western Trails Sculpture Walk would not be possible without the incredible dedication of Keith County Area Development (KCAD), the Ogallala SWAN (Sculpture Walk Across Nebraska) Committee, Ogallala Regional Arts Council (ORAC), and our many community partners.

Thank you for supporting the arts in Keith County!

The Brewakening

“'How many years have I slept?' she inquired."

Like Kate Chopin's novel at the time of its release, the idea of a coffee cream ale was originally dismissed as vulgar by our brewer.

It's not the 1890s anymore.

Now, it is celebrated as sensitive, passionate, and inspiring.

Awaken your senses, throw off society's expectations, and find liberation in this delicious cream ale that is touched by the flavor and aroma of coffee.

Introducing:
The Brewakening
Coffee Cream Ale
ABV: 5.4%
IBU: 11.2

Featuring “Rhythm Blend” coffee, roasted by Regier Coffee Roasters of Madrid, Nebraska. Wake up to your life.

Available starting today in 16-oz or 5-oz pours, and in 16-oz to-go cans. It is also included in our Holiday 6-packs! AND: Rhythm Blend coffee beans (whole bean or ground) are available for purchase in our taproom and online store.

Here's one you haven't heard yet:

A mason, a railroader, and a mechanic walked into a bar…

They pounded their fists on the bar and loudly demanded 200 lbs. of roasted pink pumpkins.

The bartender said, "I'm sorry, I can't serve you. It seems like you're already drunk in public."

"We're not Pumpkin Drublic yet!" they shouted in unison.

Introducing: Pumpkin Drublic (Pumpkin Ale).

A collaboration brew brought to you by the brewing minds of Nick at Brewery 719, Dan at Flyover Brewing Company, and Richard at Second Chapter Brewing. Featuring pink pumpkins from BE Farms in Bayard, Nebraska.

For RELEASE at Second Chapter Brewing in October!

(Available for PREVIEW now through Oktoberfest, EXCLUSIVELY for SCB Members!)

Just a reminder, we are closed this week (January 3-6). We will see you again starting on January 10.

In the meantime, you can catch us on draft at
Canyon Lakes Brewing Company, Meridian Tap House, or McCue’s Nebraska Taproom.

We are grateful to be able to try our hands at self-distribution, thanks to legislative changes last year in Nebraska that made this possible!
